STAND is a public foundation whose purpose is to support the enhancement of skills, knowledge and livelihoods of marginalized young adults in the Greater Vancouver area.
Through our grants, STAND helps young people access education and skills training to realize their vocational goals and build economic self-sufficiency. Click here to learn more.
How we do it:
We provide financial assistance and mentorship opportunities to those in need.
We concentrate our effort on young adults from the Greater Vancouver area who have overcome significant personal and family challenges
We are all professionals volunteering time and resources to help others – hence our low administrative expenses of 10%
As of January 2017:
The STAND Foundation has awarded a total of $258,524 in scholarships to 87 youth averaging $3,000 per scholarship.
An additional 59 students have benefited from a certificate program that includes First Aid, Food Safe, Fork Lift Training and World Host. Total cost per certificate averages $110.
65% of money raised to date has been placed in a permanent scholarship fund with the Vancouver Foundation.
Total assets in STAND’s scholarship have grown to approximately $555,000.
